PAWS question

NoMoDone

welll lets just say i have now beeen ABSOLUTELY clean from opiates for 3 weeks now….i was on heroin for 2 years, then subutex for 1 year, then methadone for 9 months, and then suboxone for a week or so after that….and now ive been ATLEAST 3 weeks with nothing. I honestly thought i would be ok by now…but shit, im not. Technically the methadone has had ATLEAST 4 weeks to get out of my system. I still have a runny nose, diarrhea almost 10 times a day, eyes pouring water, and the worst part is just an overall sense of WORTHLESSNESS. I feel it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to do ANYTHING productive and i have a one year old at home to take care of….not to mention im moving in a few days, so i am so behind…but i just cant shake it. Is there ANYTHING that can atleast help me FEEL LIKE I HAVE AN OUNCE OF ENERGY…?!

By the way…the supplements i am taking:
A multivitamin
Zinc
L-tyrosene
and immodium of course

Any input would be awesome:) Thank you

you need to do some exercise dude, and bring yourself up. in the spot youre in, it looks like youre guna have to do it for yourself. try to regain your stamina and do it, also adopt new nutritional habits. just look at it as if youre trying to rehabilitate yourself, and take care of yourself. thats the consequence of being addicted to such a drug, it can make you feel like complete shit afterwards. thats just what comes along with it, but in a lot of cases ppl feel bangin right after they get off dope. also it can make you gain wieght.

thanks….yeah i know alot of it is on me….i just cant believe how depressed and awful i STILL feel. Ive llost 15 pounds from withdrawling already….that methadone made me gain weight like a bitch.

This is normal.

If you were on opiates for 4 years your brain has adapted to living life with opiates.

Your brain will return to homeostasis drug free but it takes some time.

THIS IS NOT PERMANENT.

You feel like shit now, I know. But trust me….you will……I repeat YOU WILL get better soon.

Never underestimate the power of:

Eating lots of fruit, veg and nuts.
Exercising regularly (hard at first but the rush really helps – weights and cardio)
Cold showers (srsly)
Being active to take your mind off it.
Quashing negative thoughts/feelings as soon as they arise with positive mantra’s and strong belief.

Stay strong. You are doing the right thing…this part is just a test of your will…..if and when you make it through this, you will come out absolutely more powerful and stronger. Believe.

Best wishes,
A4

But yeah….in a way, withdrawals are very much a positive thing as like I said they are a test of strength and willpower and ultimately they build character for once you’ve battled it, you should come out proud of yourself and I know you feel depressed right now, but trust me….soon you will get back to actually appreciating the little things in life like sunshine hitting your face, gratefulness for all you have in life etc etc.

Some people may look down on this, but Cannabis can be great at relieving PAWS depression

^Exactly.

Och wheesht! 😀

^Cannabis does indeed work, and is an amazing alternative to alcohol.

Exercise and eating right is the healthy way to do it, and finding a hobby or something else to occupy your mind will help keep your thoughts on something positive. 🙂

Recently i went through Kratom withdrawals…..I suffer from depression as it is, and get hellishly bad depression during Kratom withdrawals however it never ceases to amaze me just how much my mood is lifted with the simple inhalation of a bong of nice Cannabis 🙂

Absolutely right NeighbourhoodThreat…..exercising and eating well can account for a HUGE part of your mood..Good work brother 🙂

How much imodium are you taking? Larger doses of loperamide can curb a substantial amount of w/d symptoms and its very easy to gradually taper it given the dosages it comes in.
